Portland, Oregon / PRWeb / March 21, 2014 – Randall Madry, Executive Director of Preventing Colorectal Cancer (PCC), will be in Portland on Friday, March 21st to award Cambia Health Solutions, the parent company of Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield and other health related companies with operations in the Pacific Northwest and nationally, with PCC’s Champions of Colorectal Cancer Prevention award.
The award will be presented at 3PM at 200 SW Market Street, Portland, Oregon 97201. The presentation will occur in the conference room on the lobby level of the building.
Csaba Mera, M.D., Cambia Health Solutions Medical Director, will be receiving the award on behalf of the company. Oregon State Senator Elizabeth Steiner Hayward, a family physician, will be making a few comments regarding the importance of colonoscopy screening. In addition, there will be gastroenterologists from The Oregon Clinic and from Northwest Gastroenterology Clinic talking about the benefits of timely and effective colonoscopy screening.
Mr. Madry is making a special trip to Portland to present this national award.
March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Among cancers that affect both men and women, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States. Every year, about 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and more than 50,000 people die from the disease. Timely colorectal cancer screening of individuals saves lives.
