Auburn, CA and Little Rock, AR / PRWeb / September 5, 2014 – Over the past six years, a dynamic team of experts in the care management field has researched how health information technology (health IT) factors are influencing the practice of case management and population health management programs. TCS Healthcare Technologies (TCS) and the Case Management Society of America (CMSA) are pleased to present the Health IT Survey Series finale webinar, entitled “The IT Factor: Years of Study Reveal Healthcare Trends”.  To register, please click here.

The survey series, which took place in 2008, 2010 and 2012, was designed to identify and analyze the primary trends in health IT systems, particular care management software applications. A nine-part report series was published over the past two years that not only examined the most current results, but tracked key health IT trends since 2008. More than 1,500 individuals participated in one or more of the three bi-annual surveys.

“The research team has created a longitudinal analysis of all three surveys, revealing dozens of insights into the evolution of health IT applications and its impact on case managers and other providers,” says Rob Pock, president and founder, TCS Healthcare Technologies. “Leveraging these new technologies should remain a high priority in terms of both public health and reduced medical costs.”

The session, scheduled for September 24, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. ET, will cover several key trend lines over the last six years, including the:

  • Changes in case management software solutions and key functions
  • Rise of social media and wireless communications
  • Emergence of transitions of care programs
  • Expansion of patient engagement strategies
  • Challenges in IT infrastructure optimization
  • Integration of case management and electronic medical record applications

Featured speakers will include:

  • Cheri Lattimer, RN, BSN, executive director, CMSA
  • Jeff Frater, RN, BSN, director of partner development, TCS Healthcare Technologies

“It is apparent that care management programs can be improved and enhanced through health IT solutions,” notes Cheri Lattimer, RN, BSN, executive director of CMSA. “This hour-long session will examine several noteworthy trends, including how emerging IT applications are transforming the practice of care management, by comparing the results of the 2012 survey with similar surveys that were completed in 2010 and 2008.”

“If you are involved in the practice of care management or with health information technology, this is a must-attend event,” says Garry Carneal, JD, MA, president, Schooner Strategies and research coordinator for this study. “These surveys represent the largest research effort assessing the opportunities and challenges associated with IT innovations in the care management arena.”
