New York/PRWeb/October 9, 2013 – Epstein Becker Green and EBG Advisors announce the second webinar in a three-part series focusing on emerging trends in population health. The webinar series offers participants informative and insightful guidance on how population health strategies are transforming the health care paradigm as the industry moves towards the management of integrated delivery systems such as accountable care organizations (ACOs).

Former U.S. health IT czar Robert M. Kolodner, MD, will share his insights during the webinar titled, “Assessing the New Mobile Environment—Slaying the Dinosaurs to Achieve Better Population Health.” Kolodner, vice president and chief medical officer for ViTel Net, will provide a candid overview and assessment of how public and private sector initiatives and the pervasive use of mobile technologies are making a difference in the emerging, virtual care and remote monitoring health care marketplace.

“With the hoopla regarding electronic health records, telemedicine platforms, and technology applications to promote affordable, high quality person-centered health and health care, a better understanding of the new mobile environment is now a necessity,” Kolodner says. “Leveraging mobile health IT can optimize population health management strategies and help achieve a healthier population.”

Kim Tyrell-Knott, a member of the firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, will moderate the webinar, which is scheduled for October 16, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. ET. To register, click here.

According to Mark Lutes, chair-elect of Epstein Becker Green’s board of directors and an EBG Advisors member, the webinar series “presents a unique opportunity for participants to hear from key thought leaders on how care delivery systems are assuming responsibility for the health of the U.S. populations.”

In addition to Kolodner’s presentation, one final webinar will round out the series:

Session III: Measuring Success—Evaluating the Clinical and Financial Efficacy of Population Health Management Strategies
Date & Time: 12:00 p.m. ET, November 20, 2013
Speaker: Dr. Tom Wilson, PhD, founder of Trajectory Healthcare, LLC and co-founder and board chair of non-profit organization Population Heath Impact Institute (www.PHIinstitute.org)

The first session in this three-part series, “The Consumer Perspective on Health Care Delivery—Challenging Pre-Existing Notions and Navigating the New Landscape,” took place on September 24, 2013, and featured noted health care communication expert Chuck Alston, senior vice president, director of public affairs, MSL, Washington, D.C. (Publicis’ strategic engagement group), and advisor to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation on the health care quality portfolio.

Alston’s presentation focused on the pre-existing notions of how to best communicate medical information to consumers, patients, and their families. To download, click here, scroll to the bottom of the page, insert the following password in the box: population1 and click “Go”.
