Annapolis, MD and Vancouver / PRWeb / July 23, 2015 – Not-for-profit advocacy organization Preventing Colorectal Cancer (PCC) is pleased to welcome CRH Medical to its membership. Founded in 2008, PCC’s mission is to educate the public and key stakeholders about the opportunities to reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer through regular screening and care options for patients and clinicians.

PCC strongly believes that a cancer prevented is better than a cancer cured, and the importance of prevention must not be underestimated. The organization, which is comprised of clinical thought leaders such as gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists and executive officers and founders of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, recognizes and supports colonoscopy as the Gold Standard colorectal cancer screening method.

“PCC’s mission to reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer by promoting optimal screening aligns with CRH Medical’s mission to deliver only the highest quality of services to both patients and facilities alike,” says CRH Medical’s CEO, Edward Wright. “We fully support PCC’s deep commitment to high-quality screening and look forward to our involvement with the organization.”

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer found in men and women in the United States (not counting skin cancers), and it is estimated that 49,700 people will die from this deadly disease in 2015. Another key cornerstone of PCC is to ensure the ongoing integrity and effectiveness of how health care professionals help screen for and treat colorectal cancer and other conditions. This includes making sure providers are fairly reimbursed for the services they offer.

“Together, we can make a difference in redefining the standard of care, campaigning for transparency in reimbursement methodologies and fighting for the coverage of sedation during colonoscopies,” notes PCC Treasurer, Mark Casner. “We applaud CRH Medical for joining PCC in this fight.”
